8.30 facilitators and therapists meet to set up and share skills using video to know the children better

Option for parents to arrive at 3.45 if they want to have time for one of our therapists to sit with parents and invite their kids to share - through a video - something they enjoyed in the day
4.30-5.30 facilitators meet to tidy up and debrief

What does a Week look like at Firefly
Explore what we have to offer. Keep an eye on this page as we will update it regularly to reflect new themes and invitations.
Every day Monday - Friday we will have specialist Neurodevelopment Therapists supporting the sessions. We will hold daily circles as a team to develop and share skills and everyone in our team is highly trained in their profession.
We also have a friendly border collie Sky who loves to play ball and is there every day alongside our team of Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapists (Zorana, Ellie, Isla and Ananda (yoga therapist).
On most days we can offer activities that meet the need and interests of the children! I have listed some of the worshops on offer below that are day specific (Thursdays and Tuesdays particularly) others activities we can do on most/ all days (art, craft, music, outdoor play and exploration, cooking and baking)
Joining us each day we have a fantastic team of professionals who support on different days:
July we are exploring under the sea. This theme runs through ours arts and crafts, we are building a giant coral reef together. Stories, music, science and more exploring the depths of the ocean.
Mondays we creative musical days we have Jo our Speech and Language Therapist and Roxy our Music Therapist creating magic
Tuesdays we have Bev (who is a creative warm, gentle kind primary school teacher with experience working in living schools), Jessi (creative artist and researcher specialising in inclusion and representation - Jessi is a wheelchair user who has Cerebral Palsy and is Autistic). Running performing arts workshops and wheelchair / walker parkour. Book a worshop to join Jessie for the afternoon or half day x
Wednesday's Wednesday's: Reiki and Crystal workshops, jewellery making, wood carving, arts, crafts, gardening and projects in the garden to get stuck in to with Ellie, Isla, Marcus and Zorana.
You can also book a workshop with Wren who is our forest school facilitator and tutor offering science through art, exploring poetry through nature, natural dying and much more!
Thursdays Jessi and Bev, Susannah who is our speech and language therapist, music lover and lis'n tell live inclusive story creator) and Alice her sausage dog! Kate who currently shares her passion for science on Thursday mornings with the older children.
Craft and art projects ongoing and lots of opportunities to explore in our wonderful garden
Fridays On some Fridays we have music and creative story workshops, bushcraft activities in the garden and local forest. We can also explore different cultures through food and languages.

More about Tuesday's
Dr Jessi Parrott (they/them) is a powered wheelchair user who has Cerebral Palsy and is autistic. A creative artist (performer, writer and poet) and a researcher who specialises in inclusion and representation, they are passionate about empowering people through creativity. They are honoured to work as a drama and creative arts facilitator at Firefly, hosting group workshops which combine storytelling, poetry and drama activities and games to inspire individual and collective expression.
On Tuesday (and Thursday mornings) this summer, Jessi will hold drama and creative arts workshops open to a range of Firefly attendees.
On Tuesday afternoons Jessi will hold drama and creative arts workshops tailored to Firefly attendees who have mobility and communication support needs (such as those who use wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids, or Alternative and Augmentative Communication [AAC] of various forms). These Tuesday afternoon sessions will also feature inclusive movement elements based in Jessi’s experience in wheelchair dance and wheelchair parkour.

Ananda is trained in Special Yoga and specialises in offering yoga as an intervention tool for children with additional needs to help them reach their true potential. Yoga is an amazing therapy to help with sleep, digestion, body alignment and maintaining and developing a range of movements. When the body is brought into regulation, learning and healing become possible.

Ananda offers personalised yoga sessions using singing bowls as well as planing and offering dynamic and immersive sensory learning sessions and workshops pulling together a wide range of resources.
Our immersive sessions are centred around a topic to bring the topic to life in multi sensory experience without the reliance on language. The foundation of the workshops are one of energy grounding, allowing all participants to feels as regulated as possible, putting them in the best space neurologically to connect, play and learn.
With integrated activities that promote switch play using a host of switch adapted toys, Inclusive Technology apps and the Cosmo suite of switch integrated games.
